KW Girls News February

Hi everyone, We are still in the housekeeping stage of the season, trying to sort teams, coaches, managers and canteen rosters. Thank you for your patience during this period of time. The season has kicked off with a few storms and some rainy weather, especially on training nights. If it looks like a storm or rain, the website will be updated at 4pm on Monday (KreW fitness) and Wednesday (training). This month sees the Junior Girl turf teams organised and coaches appointed. Regular training has commenced for the turf teams and Junior Grass team and the Under 13 grass team. Trials are coming up for our 11’s and coaches will be allocated to those teams as well as the U13 team when we have definite numbers. Under 11’s are training as well but are yet to be allocated teams until after trials. Don’t be too concerned about this – we have some great coaches who can run the girls through skills and drills in preparation for trials. Trial dates will be emailed to the girls in these age groups. Our Under 9’s and 7’s start training in a few weeks – 7th March 5pm.As well as teams getting sorted, it is also time to sort managers. Our managers do an excellent job of communicating all information out to the team – including wet weather issues. I know some parents have volunteered to manage and that is appreciated. When all teams are established, a team list will be sent to each player with their coach and manager contact details. All managers will again this year be given a pack containing bandaids, hair ties, tissues etc.Sign-on day saw lots of people come and sort their uniforms for the season. Kellie is usually at the club house every Wednesday, so if you need a new piece or socks, please come and see her.The canteen roster is getting finalised. This is a great opportunity for you to reduce your kid’s fees for the season. Obviously it is not for everyone and there is no obligation for you to do a canteen roster as you have already covered your commitment as part of your fees. However, please email Chris if this is something you are interested in and we can pass the information onto our roster coordinator. If you need further information about this, refer to your handbook or come and ask one of us at training. Read more in the Newsletter Here
